Endodontics is one of the 9 specialty fields within dentistry, but there is no need to worry if you’ve never heard of it. The word endodontics is composed of 2 different parts— “endo,” which means inside, and “odont” (tooth). At Generations Dental Care, Dr. Ashley Leavell is our specialist in endodontics, helping patients achieve happy and healthy smiles. Endodontics has a variety of dental treatments to help you maintain a healthy and functioning smile. In most cases, these services get you out of pain, and they become necessary when decay or infection reaches the inner portion of your tooth called dental pulp. Root canal therapy is the most common of these treatments, but we also offer other options, including:
For many patients, specialized endodontic treatment means visiting different practices all over town. However, because we have an endodontist at our practice, you can receive the high-quality dental care you need all at the same convenient location. Dr. Leavell offers a variety of endodontic treatments at our relaxing and welcoming practice. Plus, you’re already comfortable with our office and staff, making your overall treatment experience much more enjoyable.
It’s not often that you can get exceptional endodontic treatments at the same location as your routine checkups and cleanings, but Dr. Leavell makes it possible. She completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Tufts University in 2012 before entering a 2-year specialty residency in Endodontics at the University of Florida College of Dentistry. She also earned a Master of Science degree with research focusing on endodontic irrigation protocols during her training. Today, she uses her extensive educational background to treat even the toughest of cases, helping patients get out of pain and back to smiling.
